Batch and More

Batch Wizard

The Batch Wizard is very simple to use. It’s ‘only three steps’ – but still it is a very powerful tool. After clicking on ‘Batch Wizard’ in the menu all you need to do is:

Step 1: Select the source directory containing the photos you want to optimize in a batch.

Step 2: Choose your preferred optimization algorithm (and maybe change the default settings of the respective algorithm by clicking on its settings button).

Step 3: Select the target directory where the optimized photos should be saved and then click on ‘Execute’ to start the process.

Note: if you choose a licensed algorithm that needs to be unlocked (i.e. ‘i2e’ or ‘Perfectly Clear’ or ‘Xe847 ProPlus’) without having bought and entered a license code, please be aware that all the photos optimized using that batch routine will contain a watermark.

Crop

Define the required cropping area using the rectangle selection tool presented.

Start by clicking the left mouse button once to define the top left corner of the rectangle. Keep the mouse button pressed and move the mouse further right and down to define a rectangle. When you release the left mouse button, the rectangle which you have created can be moved around and resized to help you define the perfect cutout.

Once you are satisfied with the position and size of the rectangle, click the right mouse button. All image parts which lie outside the rectangle (and are displayed slightly darker than the original photo) are discarded, leaving you with the section of the photo which you wish to retain.

Resize

This dialog is used to change the true size of the image (in pixels).

Just enter a new value for the image width (or select one of the commonly used sizes from the dropdown menu) and the respective image height will be calculated accordingly to keep the aspect ratio intact.

Finally click on Resize image to activate the process.

Undo

Choose ‘Undo’ from the menu in case you want to annul a change which you have made to your photo (e.g. a resize or crop). Please note: To undo an automatic optimization, please choose the ‘Original’ again (e.g. by clicking on it or pressing ‘0’ instead of using the ‘undo’ function.
